Stithians made an excellent start in The Yorkshire Tea Village Cup by knocking out near neighbours and County One side Perran ar Worthal.

Having lost the toss and been inserted in bowler friendly conditions Stithians recovered from 6-2 to 74-4 and then collapsed to 96 all out in 30 overs with Glyn Furnival's 29 the main contribution. The home side started confidently but were undone by Glyn Furnival's opening spell of 4 wickets and Ben Tann's 3-7 in 9 overs. Craig Mouatt and Martin Strick kept the pressure on as the lower order fell away and they were dismissed for 51.

Stithians are now at home to the winners of Uplyme v Yelverton Bohemians in the next round on Sunday 20th May.
